#Saturday Spankings

I'm going back to my Naughty Little Secret after a long absence telling you about my new WIP.

“Maybe I should spank you for your lies and bullshit,” I countered crossly. The look on his face told it all. It had obviously never occurred to him that maybe he could be on the receiving end for a change.
“I’d prefer to keep the spanking the other way round, Shiv, but if I thought it would help fix this, I’d try it. The last three days have been hell. I know it’s my own fault, but I miss you so much. Nothing’s the same. I’d give anything to start over, with a clean slate.”
He had set me thinking. Maybe it would help if I got to take it out on his backside.

Would it help?
I'd really like an opinion on this.
When you're done be sure to visit the others on this blog hop. Thanks for dropping by

  1. I think whether it will help or not depends on how she's wired. My heroine did something similar, and though it helped douse her immediate ire it also made her realize she didn't care much for the role reversal. I do think he's serious, however, and sometimes the offer alone is enough. Although Shiv appears feisty and the fact she's even considering it makes me wonder.... Great excerpt.

    1. Thank you Kathryn, funnily enough, in theory, I love the equality of the Spencer Spanking Plan, ie, both parties are answerable to each other and either can be spanked, I do see the equality is removed if one gets a kick out of being on the receiving end and the other doesn't. And equally, one may get a kick out of being the discipliner whereas the other may not. It's all very complex!

  2. Like this. The roles aren't mandated, and there is always room for negotiation. Even if there isn't a role reversal, the conversation will still be a good one.

    1. Totally agree Ana, there is always room for negotiation! Just because Michael is the male it does not make him infallible or unanswerable.

    1. Thanks Emily. Something tells me that "God made them and matched them," as we say here. One is well fit for the other!

    1. I think as Kathryn said earlier, it just depends on the way she is wired. Closure on a problem is always good, but what's closure for one isn't necessarily the same for the other.

  6. I vote yes! He needs a spanking for whatever the reason; boys usually do. :P

Seriously, though. Very hot snippet, and I enjoy your writing immensely.

  7. I'd have to vote for a spanking for him, even if he just has to lay across her lap for a couple of swats. Could be very sexy.

    1. Could indeed be sexy...not to mention downright satisfying! But again as Kathryn pointed out it's totally dependent on the characters involved.

  8. Oh I agree, I want to see him get spanked too.

I love it when a man is desperate. ~Grins~

    Great little tease, Tara.

    1. "I love it when a man is desperate"...aren't they always desperate, in some form or another. Some are better than others obviously. Thank you

  10. I'm in the minority. Spanking the Dom doesn't do it for me. Can I take it for him LOL, but seriously, the man isn't infallible but if he is in the wrong, he should definitely make it up to her. The question is how? Very thought provoking snippet, Tara

    1. It's always interesting to walk in another's shoes for a moment Maddie, and maybe no harm for Michael to have to do so. His infraction was much more serious than most of hers had been, and he had a lot to make up.

  11. Role reversal is a dangerous path to follow, not necessarily for the writer, but for the characters. Sometimes retribution is better in theory than in practice. :)

so true, Patricia, but sometimes you have to try it to understand that, and the temptation is often too great.

  12. Role reversal may or may not be the way to go but sometimes you have to make your own mistakes. If she feels that’s what she needs to get over what ever he’s done she should go for it. Very thought provoking snippet Tara :)
